Following the rave reception of their debut album 'We Are,' the acclaimed Russian four-piece Lucidvox have returned 14 months later with a thunderous and lushly produced two-song digital single. The band tells us about the creation of the new songs and the stories behind them:

“Our two-song single was written during a musical residence in Udmurtia region of Russia. We jammed with bands Elektricheskaya Sobaka and Poima, and were inspired by the history of Udmurtia and the way songs are created in the region.

"Burn the Grief" is a song about living reclusively. When we feel bad, we try to escape to nature, to be alone with fire and trees. To be in the middle of an endless field. And only then it becomes clear that no matter how bad we feel, we want to share our pain with people and shelter loved ones from misfortune. This song is about tenderness and love.

"Swarm" was written based on real events: during a video filming near the Udmurt village Sep. A member of the group Alina and part of the film crew were attacked by a wasp swarm from a rotten tree in a swamp. Living in an urban space, we completely lose our connection with nature, which seems to be excluded from the context of life. Even a not too large interaction (this, of course, is not a volcanic eruption, but even wasps have their colossal importance in this world and protect each other from danger) becomes stunning. This is a reminder to all of us that it is not constructive to treat the land on which we live in a consumerist way.”
